Terms & Conditions

Definitions:

Assist: the player who made a key contribution to setting up a goal. We take our assists from the Live Text on the BBC's website, so its decision is final. Manager: means the individual responsible for selection and entry of a team to our fantasy football league. Season: means the English football season 2008/2009, including all the Premiership and FA Cup fixtures.

Eligibility:

The “Rules” and any other instructions detailed in advertisement for Football 4 Charity’s Premiership Fantasy Football League 2008/2009 shall form part of the terms and conditions for this competition. By entering this competition you agree to be legally bound to such terms and conditions.

Selecting Your Teams:

Managers can enter as many teams they like. Teams must be entered in the formation of either 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 and you must keep within the £50million budget at all times. Teams must include 1 goalkeeper and 4 defenders plus either 3 midfielders and 3 strikers (4-3-3) or 4 midfielders and 2 strikers (4-4-2). Managers may switch between formations throughout the season by making transfers.  There is no limit on players from the same club.

Team Names:

Teams may be called anything at all as long as it is not rude or offensive to anyone. Football 4 Charity reserves the right to ban teams whose name is offensive.

Entering Your Team:

Teams cannot be entered until the payment of £3 has been made and confirmed. Online payment can be made through PayPal and we accepts all cards. If you are having trouble with Paypal or wish to pay via an alternative method please email info@football4charity.co.uk and we will help.

Coupons:

Football 4 Charity now offer a Coupon Method of payment, so that you can pay for a group of fantasy football teams at once and then your friends, family or colleagues can enter their teams without having to go trough the payment page. This may be particularly useful for businesses wishing to enter.

Coupons are allocated by Football 4 Charity and you will only be allocated the amount of coupons that you actually pay for. If you try to submit more teams than you have paid for, a message will come up saying that your coupons have expired, meaning you have not paid for enough coupons to submit teams. If interested contact us at info@football4charity.co.uk.

Entry Deadline:

The entry deadline for you to enter your Premiership Fantasy Football League 2008/2009 is Saturday 16th August 2008 at 12.00 noon. Teams cannot be entered after this date.

Making Transfers:

For each team you enter, you are allowed to make unlimited transfers up to the start of the season and a maximum of 12 transfers thereafter. These transfers can be made at any stage during the season apart from when the transfer block is on (see below). When you bring a player in, the player you take out will not gain your team any points from once you have taken them out, also you will only get the points of the players you bring in from the stage you bring him in.

You cannot exceed your £50million budget but you can use tranfers to change from a 4-4-2 formation to 4-3-3 and vice versa. Once you have made a transfer, it cannot be changed.

Transfer Block:

Football 4 Charity now have the facility to set a transfer block. This is so that while the actual Premiership or FA Cup matches are being played, managers cannot make transfers.  The block will be activated between midday and midnight on Saturdays and Sundays as well as during midweek games - no transfers can be made at these times.

Players List:

The players included on the Players List and their values have been determined on the individual's performance in last season’s Premiership Fantasy Football League and also Football 4 Charity’s opinion on the ability of each individual player. Players who have not been selected on the list or new players brought into the Premiership League shall be added to the league at our decided price, but points will only be awarded from once the player is added to the league.

Scoring Points:

Points are scored as indicated in the Rules section.

Football 4 Charity’s decision on points is final. Any queries can be sent to us at info@football4charity.co.uk, but our decision is final.

Updates:

We will attempt to update the scoreboard as soon as we can after matches have finished.

Banning Teams:

Football 4 Charity has the right to ban anyone from the league who has been offensive to other managers or is trying to cheat. Any manager who has gone against the Terms and conditions and rules stated by Football 4 Charity has the right to be banned from the league. Any managers who are to be banned from the league will be told through e-mail and taken out of the league instantly.

Prizes:

Prizes for the 2007/8 season are as follows:

  • 1st Prize: £250
  • 2nd Prize: £100
  • 3rd Prize: £50
  • Divisional Prizes: £50 *
  • Organisation leagues: 10 flight and match tickets to see Barcelona play at the Nou Camp. NOTE organisational league prizes will only be given if there are more than 20 organizations entered.

Players can only win one prize. So if a manager wins a divisional prize and an overall prize they will receive the higher value of the two and the runner-up in the other category will receive the prize for that category.

In the event that any leading positions are tied, the prize will be awarded to the manager whose team has scored the most points in the last week of the season (The FA Cup Final). If the position is still tied, then the prize money will be split.

* Midway through the season the league splits into divisions, with the top division competing for the top prize and the two other divisions competing for the Divisional Prizes, while also being able to compete for the top prize.

Mini Leagues:

Football 4 Charity offer the chance for you to enter your team in a ‘Mini-League’. This means you can compete with your friends, family or colleagues in a smaller league table to see who is the best of the bunch, while still competing in the full league table for the overall prizes. Football 4 Charity do not allocate prizes for mini-leagues..

Business/University/Pub league Leagues:

Any organisation that enters 10 teams into the Premiership Fantasy Football League will be entered into the organisation league competing with other universities, businesses and pubs up and down the country.  The score for your business is calculated by taking the average of the top ten teams registered from your organisation.

General:

Football 4 Charity’s decision in all competition-related matters shall be final. Winners shall be notified and awarded their prize within 30 days of the end of the league and there are no prize or cash alternatives to the prizes and prizes are not transferable.

All Managers and Winners’ names, team selections, photographs, and any comments made in relations to the league's success and running (positive comments only) may be used by Football 4 Charity without limitation for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes, in all and any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid. Entry and participation into the League will be deemed your acceptation of these terms.

Football 4 Charity shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered by any person as a result of, or in connection with, or arising from the competition, any prize, or these terms.
